Hello all! This is a new thing that I will be doing, in which I put down all the books that I have come in contact with throughout my week. I will have books I have been reading, books I started, books I finished and books I got excited about! I will chat a bit about each book and the point is to let you know what I am getting into and help you find new reading material without having to wait for me to do a long review. So let’s get started!
Books I Started:
Insurgent by Veronica Roth (reread):
Everyone knows that the Insurgent movie is coming out soon, and I always like to reread books before the movie comes out. I especially wanted to reread Insurgent because the details were pretty foggy, and it kind of blurred together with Alliegiant. So far I have really enjoyed it and because I remember so little of it, its nice to find all these perfect little details and quotes again!
Books I Read:
Reached by Ally Condie:
I have literally been reading this book forever and I keep getting sidetracked and had yet to truly get into it, so it was nice this week to pick it up and really read it for a while and as it is the last book in this series, it is getting super dramatic and epic looking!
The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare:
I started this collection of stories from Magnus’s point of view after reading the Mortal Instruments series but before reading the Infernal Devices books, so I didn’t get a lot of the references, but since I finished Clockwork Princess this week, it was fun to get back to it!
Note: If you have not read any Cassandra Clare shadowhunter books then make sure you read The Infernal Devices first, and then The Mortal Instruments, and then The Bane Chronicles, because that way you won’t get spoilered!
The Grasshopper Trap by Patrick McManus(reread):
I am kind of always reading this book, it sits beside my bed, and I pick it up when I feel like it. It is a collection of funny outdoorsy stories, and McManus has a bunch of books out, that are all really good! So I felt like reading a few funny stories this week, so I grabbed it, and enjoyed it, as always! I highly suggest this, because they are super funny and great, especially if you are a outdoorsperson, or just in general, and you can just read one story from it and then set it down, and you can pick through and read your favorites over and over again!
Books I Finished:
Eragon by Christopher Paolini:
I read this book for my English project and I really enjoyed it! I know you are all in shock that I had never read this, but I have now and I am glad for it! The writing style is just so beautiful and descriptive, I cannot believe that a 16-year-old wrote it! Overall it was a really good read and I am excited to read the rest of the series!
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare:
I loved this book!! It made me laugh hysterically and cry my eyes out in the middle of French class! It was just sooooo good, and everything was satisfactorily ended! I highly suggest this series with all my heart! I connected with the characters and I just loved it so very much!!
Books I Got Pumped About Reading (And will most likely be starting soon):
The Young Elites by Marie Lu:
A friend brought me this book and ordered me to read it, so I read the back and now I am super pumped because it looks really good! I will report more opinions as I start reading it!
Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers:
I read Grave Mercy, which is the first book in this series, in like 2 days, it was very, very good and I adored it! I haven’t started it yet because I was trying to finish Eragon, but I am pumped, although I am a tad disappointed that it’s not in Ismae’s point of view! But just reading the back and the first couple pages it looks amazing!
Eldest by Christopher Paolini:
I just finished Eragon, and I am super excited to continue this story and find out more about what happens to Eragon and Saphira, because I love them!
Ps: This ended up being on a Monday cause I got really busy, but I plan on it being a Sunday thing, which I am excited about doing!
XOXO ~ Moriah
